Our Ethos Statement
Pierrepont Gamston Primary School: A Community of Flourishing Learners
Our Ethos
At Pierrepont Gamston Primary School, we are a thriving Church of England primary school where children learn to love and love to learn each and every day. Rooted in our Christian faith, we are committed to nurturing the whole child - academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually - so that they can fulfil their God-given potential and discover who they were created to be.
Our inclusive and diverse community is a tapestry of cultures, languages, and backgrounds. We embrace this rich diversity, celebrating the unique gifts and talents of each child. Through our caring and supportive environment, we ensure that all pupils, regardless of their starting points or individual needs, are empowered to flourish.
Our Values
Our school is guided by four core values that permeate every aspect of school life:
Our Approach to Education
At the heart of the Pierrepont Gamston Primary School way is a child-centred approach to education. We believe in the importance of carefully designed lessons, a well-thought-out and bespoke curriculum, and a calm and supportive learning environment. Our assessment practises are used to inform next steps, ensuring that each child receives the tailored support and challenge they need to thrive.
We are committed to developing the whole child, nurturing their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Through our "Know more, remember more, enjoy more" approach, we empower our pupils to deepen their understanding, retain their learning, and find joy in the process.
As a Church of England primary school, we are guided by our Christian foundation and the principles of our faith. We strive to weave the teachings of Jesus and the values of the Church throughout our curriculum and school life, creating opportunities for our pupils to explore their spirituality and develop a personal relationship with God.
Together, as a community of flourishing learners, we are on a journey of discovery, growth, and transformation. We are committed to equipping our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and character to thrive, both now and in the future, as they continue to learn, love, and live out their God-given purpose.
Over lockdown we joined with Faith at Home to create a 'Look to the rainbow' video of children being united. A high resolution version can be watched here. It is a beautiful vision of hope that epitomises our school ethos. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Middleton for their hard work producing it.
